Photo Exhibition: Wetzlar – Bild einer Stadt

Fotoaustellung: Wetzlar - Bild einer Stadt

Leica photographs by Hans Saebens are shown in an exhibition with the title “Wetzlar – Bild einer Stadt” (“Wetzlar -  A City’s Image”) from 1 – 10 June 2012.

The basis for this exhibition are 15 original prints by Hans Saebens (vintage prints) dated before 1949 out of Lars Netopil’s collection. The exhibition seeks to show in its entirety the pictures from the book “Wetzlar – Bild einer Stadt” (“Wetzlar -  A City’s Image”), published in 1949. Altogether, 41 photographs were published. Meanwhile, all negatives of the Wetzlar series could be acquired from the estate of Hans Saebens so that all pictures that are not available as vintage prints could be reproduced from Saebens original negatives.

The exhibition takes place at Weissadlergasse 12 in Wetzlar’s historic old town and is open daily from 10am to 6pm. Entrance is free.
